Meal Plan Monday

Meal planning is a super helpful way for our family to stay on track with eating (relatively) healthy and at home all week long. We have such a busy weeknight schedule - every night has something for someone and someplace for someone to be.  So meal planning it is.....

When I meal plan, I don't plan specific meals for specific days (usually).  I make a list off 5-6 dinners and 3-4 lunches and 1-2 breakfasts and go from there.  We pick and choose what to have each day based on the night's schedule.

Breakfasts this week:

  • cereal & milk
  • overnight oats
  • scrambled eggs
  • toast/english muffin/bagel with PB or cream cheese.

Lunches this week - bagged lunches for school:
  • PBJ sandwiches
  • Bagged chips
  • cheese sticks
  • apples/oranges
  • yogurt
  • leftovers
  • SOS - stuff on a salad
  • Saturday - Breakfast lunch
  • Sunday - grilled cheese with tomato soup
Dinners this week - actually by day this week due to schedules:
  • Sunday - Pot Roast in the Crock Pot with root veggies, bread & salad
  • Monday - Thing #4 Birthday Dinner Request - Spaghetti with meatballs and garlic bread and birthday cake for dessert
  • Tuesday - Nachos
  • Wednesday - WWJ dinner at church
  • Thursday - leftovers
  • Friday - Corned beef with potatoes, soda bread and salad
  • Saturday - leftovers or steaks wth baked potatoes
  • Sunday - leftovers or steaks with bakes potatoes
Sweet Treats - once or twice a week only:
  • Birthday Cake
  • Vanilla Ice Cream with chocolate sauce
Evening Snacks - if needed:
  • Popcorn
  • Toast with PB
  • Pretzels with PB
